Pallas Foundation Awards $16,000 Mullen Scholarship to Angelo State University Students Pursuing National Security Careers

SAN ANGELO, TX – The Pallas Foundation is proud to announce a $16,000 Mullen scholarship to support two Angelo State University (ASU) students pursuing degrees in cybersecurity, border and homeland security, or intelligence analysis for the 2024-2025 academic year. This is through the Mullen Scholarship Initiative which aims to bolster the next generation of leaders in national security and related fields.


"We are proud and honored to be selected by the Pallas Foundation to join such an outstanding and innovative scholarship initiative," said Jamie Mayer, ASU Vice President for External Affairs. "This exciting new partnership showcases what can be accomplished through collaboration between institutions that share the same vision and values. It will certainly enhance the educational opportunities available to our students in the various security fields as they prepare for impactful careers safeguarding our local and regional communities and our nation."


The scholarship awards are designed not only to alleviate the financial burden for students but to empower them to pursue impactful careers in the fields critical to our national security. Recipients will receive $8,000 each and will be required to submit a letter reflecting on the scholarship’s impact on their education and future career aspirations.


Essye Miller, Director of the Pallas Foundation Board, emphasized the importance of this partnership in furthering national security education, stating: "The work being done by students at Angelo State University is integral to the future of our nation's security infrastructure. The Pallas Foundation is proud to support these students as they embark on educational journeys that will make a lasting impact."


The Pallas Foundation will award two ASU students $8,000 each, with priority given to those pursuing studies in cybersecurity, border and homeland security, or intelligence and analysis. As part of the scholarship conditions, recipients are required to submit a thank-you letter detailing how the scholarship has positively impacted their education and career aspirations.
